I keep having thoughts of "Oh maybe it would be nice to have a little blog to just talk about things I like and review them casually, or share little updates on my progress on projects for myself" and keep forgetting that Dreamwidth could be exactly that for me. Oops.
I'm pretty terrible at actually writing such posts though, usually I just plan out my reviews and such in my head, including editing the wording, and then never post them anywhere and eventually forget what I was going to say in the first place - also happens when I get fanfic ideas.
Anyway, I shall make a small update of my projects here for now, and maybe remember to actually continue this semi-regularly in the future. Unlikely though ^^;
1. The Neocities Website & Coding
I got really into it again for a while, and actually started a html course on W3Schools, but of course a new (returning) hobby came to distract me instead - art!
2. Art!
I got stuck into a few screenshot edit collabs and some more Art Fight attacks to finish off the month, but then that drive faded a bit and two new (again, returning) things took over: reading and *drumroll*...webmastery!
3. Reading
I'm back on my Phryne Fisher books, I've watched the TV show so many times, and started reading the books (finally) last year, and they are a delight of their own. I need to be in the right mood though, and a couple of trips to a local (delightful) teahouse kicked me right into it!
4. Webmastery! Again! But Different!
Not Neocities (or Nekoweb) this time, but I'm back on my Wix sites! Mostly Fortune's Favour, for my fan senshi Sailor Fortuna. I've been inspired to work on her story as well, so this has included some writing too. I'm still sort of in this mood, but I'm also feeling a desire to make art.
5. Art! Again!
This time it's with the aim of making stuff for the website, which means I'm struggling a bit because it's not born of passion at the moment.This mostly means I keep jumping through WIPs, unable to finish anything, and struggling to start anything properly.
6. Not a project per say, but it will impact them - I have a new job.
I've been unemployed for several months after my previous contract ended, and it's been a tough market, but I finally secured one. Even though I got the verbal offer several weeks ago, there were a few things I had to do, and then a lot of waiting on them (government positions are so slow!), it was a bit frustrating and nerve wracking, but all of a sudden I'm starting tomorrow. Tomorrow is an 8:30AM start, not my favourite since the commute can be up to an hour, depending, but Friday (and the rest of the job) is going to be a 6:30AM start, so I have to shift my whole sleep schedule for that as I have a lot of trouble with sleep. I had been doing that a bit when I first got the offer, but fell off it after it was taking so long, so now I have very short notice to get it on track, and it is difficult! I did get a new prescription of melatonin to help though, and have been shifting my wake-up time earlier the last couple of days to get ready for it. I woke up at 6:00AM this morning, and I'm so tired! Tomorrow I'll do 5:30 I think, and then the next day will be the 5AM start I'll need for my 6:30 training. Hopefully I'm able to fall asleep early enough for that to work out for me.
Okay, that's enough rambling about what I've got going on. I've never been one much for a journal - I tried one a couple times, particularly after my therapist recommended it a several years ago, but I just get bored with it haha. That said, it's kinda to do this every once in a while, so hopefully I'll keep it up.
